Limewash is one of the oldest wall finishes in the world — crushed limestone, slaked and aged, that bonds with the wall instead of coating it. How is limewash different from regular paint?

Paint forms a plastic film on top of the wall; limewash is a mineral wash that penetrates and bonds with the surface. It gives a matte, softly mottled finish, lets the wall breathe, and ages by patina instead of peeling.

Will limewash work on my drywall?

Yes. Standard drywall is primed with a mineral base coat so the limewash can bond properly. We handle all prep as part of the job.

Can I wipe or clean limewashed walls?

Lightly, yes. For kitchens, baths, and busy hallways we can apply a breathable mineral sealer that adds washability without changing the look.
